The Global Services Coalition

CSI chairs the Global Services Coalition (GSC), an informal coalition of associations that represent the services industry in major developed and developing economies. These associations speak for the services sector in their respective countries on matters of international trade and investment. Services include: financial services, professional services, information and communications technology, express delivery and logistics, retail services, education services, electronic security services, energy and environment services, and tourism and transport services, among others.

The GSC first began working together more than a decade ago during the WTO Doha Round Multilateral Trade negotiations and subsequently supported the conclusion of a high-standard Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA). Since the suspension of the TiSA negotiations, the GSC ha sfocused its efforts on promoting the negotiation of a high standard WTO e-commerce framework agreement and a permanent extension of the WTO e-commerce moratorium. The GSC also works to promote elimination of restrictions to cross-border data flows and data localization requirements in markets around the world.

The GSC welcomes new members to the coalition.
